MEETING MINUTES

The Chapter meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by Gerald Johnson; Gerald welcomed guest and members in attendance.

The lunch invocation was give by Gerald Johnson

 

Guest Speaker(s): There were no guest speaker(s) at this quarter Chapter Meeting.                        

 

CHAPTER BUSINESS

 

REPORTS:

 

Secretary’s Report:

 

Copies of the minutes were on the table for the attendees of the May 9, 2008 meeting. Clay Frankenreiter asked if all attendees had the copies of minutes. Jill Knobbe motioned that the Secretary’s minutes be approved. Ed Dirck seconded the motion and the minutes were approved by majority vote of the members in attendance.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

 

Ed Dirck, treasurer, provided copies of the treasurer’s report to the members in attendance. Ed had indicated the Chapter did not take in a lot of money and he suggested that if the we offered more classes that would generate more money for our Chapter. According to the submitted treasurer’s report the Chapter’s balance as of May 9, 2008 is $8,145.00. This is lower than the $12,363.94 from the previous treasure’s report dated March 14, 2008. Harvey Allen motioned that the treasurer’s report be approved as submitted. The motion was seconded by Ashleigh Robinson and approved by majority vote of the members in attendance.

 

 

 

 

 

Educational Chair Report:

 

The Educational Chair, Angela Hagins reported that:

IRWA Course 701- Property/Asset Management: Leasing and

IRWA Course 703 Real Property/Asset Management were offered last month at Ameren and that 15 students had signed up.

 

Angela had also reported that the Chapter has some upcoming courses.

They are as follows:

IRWA Course 303 – Managing the Consultant Process 9/29 to 9/30.

IRWA Course 600 – Environmental Awareness being offered 11/7/08.

If interested in these classes please sign up.

 

Angela also discussed that anyone interested in becoming a course coordinator that they can take it on-line. The on-line coordinator class only takes 1 hour and furthermore classes are FREE. Currently we have four course coordinators. They are: Sharon Wolf, Cynthia Gan, Jill Knobbe, and Angela Hagins.

 

Next year the local Chapter will offer approximately 6 courses. One of which, is an “Appraisal “course. Course fees are increasing next year as well. The increase are as follows: $10.00 for one day, $15.00 for two days, and $20.00 for a three day course.

 

 

Membership Chair Report:

 

Membership Chair, Gloria Nickerson, wanted to recognize the new members with plaques. The new members are: Norman Heneberg.

 

 

Professional Development Chair Report:

 

Currently, we do not have any new SR/WA candidates. So please sign up for classes to start earning your SR/WA designation.

 

 

Old Business

 

Chapter Website:   Gerald Johnson reported that our website is still a mess. Gerald has been trying to make contact with our webmaster to see if she was still interested however, he has not heard from her. With that in mind, Gerald Johnson made an offer to the attendees that if they know of anyone who knows about being a webmaster please call or e-mail Gerald Johnson. This is something that Gerald wanted to get on right away.

 

By Law Review: Gerald Johnson would look over our Chapter’s by laws and he wants to recruit a volunteer to help look at our by laws. If interested please notify Gerald. National will look at by their by laws as well.

 

 

 

New Business

 

Cardinals Baseball Game: Chris Hilson reported that the Chapter has 35 tickets to the August 7th, 1:15 baseball game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The cost per ticket is $40.00 which includes admission to the club, a buffet, and beverages. The food menu includes chicken, hot dogs, etc…So far 12 tickets has been reserved and the tickets are for members only.
